Church Painting Overview

Church painting projects can be large and complex. They often include a combination of challenging components, such as large spaces, high ceilings, and intricate woodwork and details. Worship spaces may also be very old, requiring special care and attention to preserve delicate structures and surfaces. When your church needs a fresh coat of paint, you don’t want to hire just any painter - you need a team of painters who have experience with intricate spaces and jobs requiring a high level of precision. Our team at VanDerKolk Painting can help you revive your church with a beautiful new coat of paint.

We have become very passionate about painting church properties and have worked with some wonderful committees over the years. If you have a tall steeple that can’t be easily reached, or simple classroom painting we can help you plan your budget. Entire sanctuaries, pews, and exterior projects have filled our schedule many times. Church Painting Services

We offer painting services to help you revive your church’s facade both inside and out. We start all of our services with a free estimate to learn about your project, answer any questions you have, and give you estimates for the cost and timeframe for your project. We do our best to schedule our services in the most convenient way to allow you to keep daily operations running smoothly. We’ll cover and protect surfaces, then we’ll get to work! When the job is complete, we’ll clean everything up so your church will look like new.

Interior Church Painting

Church interiors can be beautifully intricate. Refresh paint by adding a new coat in the same color, or update the look of your church space with a new color. We can take care of aspects of your church painting project including:

  • Walls and ceiling, including tall ceilings
  • Trim
  • Woodwork
  • Pews and other furnishings

We can paint church spaces of all types and sizes. Some rooms and spaces you might consider painting could include:

  • Sanctuaries
  • Social halls
  • Office suites
  • Rectories
  • Classrooms
  • Restrooms
  • Common areas and hallways

If you have questions regarding whether we can paint a certain part of your church space, let us know - odds are we’ve done it before!

Exterior Church Painting

Keeping the paint on your church’s exterior refreshed on a regular basis not only makes the outside of your church look as welcoming as the inside, but it also protects surfaces from the elements over time. We can paint a variety of surfaces on your church’s exterior, including:

  • Siding
  • Brick
  • Steeples
  • Trim
  • Ironwork
  • Window frames

We use premium exterior paints that will hold up to the weather and elements and keep your church exterior looking beautiful. We even have experience and certifications for working with lead paints, allowing us to work with older buildings while keeping your staff and congregation safe.

  • How Long Does Church Painting Take?

The length of time your church painting project takes will depend on a number of factors. When we provide your free estimate, we’ll take into consideration the size of your church, whether we’re doing interior paint, exterior paint, or both, and how much detailed work there is. Keep in mind that churches are big, and a church painting project will take much longer than a house painting project. Anticipate that your project will take at least a few weeks to complete. When we deliver your estimate, we can give you a more accurate idea of how long it will take to complete your project.

  • How Is The Church Space Protected During Painting?

An important piece of preserving your holy space is keeping floors and furniture protected during a painting job. Some pieces of furniture can be moved to minimize any potential mishaps during your renovation project. Then we will carefully cover floors, pews, woodwork, statues, and other large objects that can’t be moved with plastic and tape them off to protect them from paint drips and damage while we work.

  • Who Can Touch Up Or Restore Church Murals?

While we may be able to provide minor touch-ups to your murals, if you need murals completely restored, it’s best to work with an artist who specializes in church murals. A mural artist will be able to clean, match colors, and do the highly detailed work of touching up murals that need extensive restoration.
